NAME: Cornelia li Britannia
CANON: Code Geass
CANON POINT: End of R2, right before Suzaku and Lelouch finish Zero Requiem
AGE: 28
BACKGROUND: Wiki!
PERSONALITY: Cornelia is a fairly straightforward woman. Befitting a warrior princess from a conquering empire, Cornelia is aggressive, ruthless, and willing to take extreme actions as necessary. She's also a tactical mind, calculating, if perhaps not cold about it, using any advantages she can get to keep a step ahead of her enemies, even pushing Lelouch to his limits at times.
Despite that, there's far more to Cornelia than the deadly warrior. Deep down, Cornelia is a woman with a deep love for her family and her people. Long before becoming the general she is, she admired her father's consort Marianne, a peasant who rose through the ranks for her talents as a warrior - who inspired Cornelia to learn to fight as well. Growing up, she was surrounded by half-siblings, as well as her little sister Euphemia; the siblings she saw the most of, like Marianne's children, Schneizel, and Clovis were very close with her, and the apparent fate of Marianne, Lelouch, and Nunnally seems to have motivated her to become so ruthless.
We see a younger Cornelia before that, proud of being named to Marianne's personal security detail, and later, we see the most feared general in all of Britannia, ruthless, and with extreme disregard for those she's conquered. Given the story Charles cooked up for what happened to Marianne and her children, Cornelia even has a particular grudge against Japan and its people. Hurting her loved ones is generally a pretty bad idea.
Her pride, stubbornness, motivation, and love all come together once the actual story in Code Geass gets rolling. Losing Clovis is, of course, a blow that gives her unshakeable determination to take care of Zero... and losing Euphemia and learning the truth about geass shakes it all up. Realizing how much bigger this is, she disappears, leaving her soldiers and her empire behind to find the truth and destroy everything to do with geass.
Of course, this gets more complicated when one of the siblings she cares about decides to destroy Britannia's capital as a show of force - his willingness to do anything to instill fear in the world to enforce peace. She almost gets herself killed immediately turning and attacking him. Unsurprisingly, she has a bit of a temper that is difficult to mitigate without Guilford or Euphemia to keep her from flying off; and it shows where her priorities lay at this point.
By the time everything is said and done, Cornelia seems to have calmed down a bit. At least we see that, after Lelouch dies, she attends a wedding between a Britannian soldier and one of the Japanese Black Knights, suggesting that she's gotten over her issues with non-Britannians to some degree. While she's stubborn and brutal, she also eventually accepts Suzaku as Euphemia's knight due to his ability and dedication. Obviously, there's not much chance to see her in her downtime, but she's even playful with Euphemia when she can actually relax.
Also, if the picture dramas are canon, Euphemia can totally get her into embarrassing situations like wearing overly sexy swimsuits so that's fun.
